Host a Screening

Spread this great awakening
when you host a screening

One of the most impactful ways you can help more people awaken… is screening the film! By hosting an event where people can come together, in person, to view and discuss the documentary, a real movement for truth can grow.

Please review this entire page for detailed directions & helpful tips, so you can create as activating of an experience as possible!

Important note: People can’t be charged to view our movies, due to our licensing. However, you can provide the opportunity to donate to help cover the cost of renting the venue, such as a movie theater, or for other event expenses if needed.

Please use this disclaimer when marketing your event: “Donations and ticket sales go to covering event expenses.”

Where to Host

Anywhere with comfortable seating and the necessary film-screening technology can work! The best places are generally:

📺 Your Home or Backyard

🍿 Local Cinemas

⛪️ Churches or Other Community Centers

🎥 How TO HOST 🎥

  1. CHOOSE VENUE 🏫
Contact various venues in your area if you want to host a public screening, or host for friends & family at your home!
Though you can’t charge for folks to view our films, due to our licensing, you can invite people to donate to help cover the costs of the venue, like for renting a movie theater, or other event expenses. Please use this disclaimer when marketing: “Donations and ticket sales go to covering event expenses.”
  2. SELECT DATE & TIME 🗓️
Once you understand your venue’s availability, select a date that you expect to work well (be mindful of public holidays!) as well as a time. Keep in mind that you may want an hour+ of time for discussion or mingling afterward, as well as cleanup. Consider the usual lunch & dinner hours, and how much food & drink to provide – you could even recruit a food truck 🌮
  3. PLAN THE TECHNICAL SIDE 💻
    – Ask your venue (or determine with your household) how to screen the movie. Often, you can simply use the movie file that’s free to download here. However, if you need a 4K version of our film or the DCP, please email us to secure these.
    – Determine whether you need a microphone to quiet down the audience at a larger venue, and who will be in charge of welcoming the audience once they’re seated.
    – If you’re creating space for people to mingle, or hosting a discussion (see example questions below) afterward, see whether you’ll need a mic to pass around, so everyone can hear one another, or a stereo for soft background music.
  4. PROMOTE YOUR SCREENING 🎉
Take advantage of our graphics here. You can promote your screening on social media or community bulletin boards, if it’s a public one, or text/email your friends and family if it’s held privately at your home.
  5. PREPARE FOR SETUP/CLEANUP 💪
Coordinate with family & friends to show up to your venue ahead of time to set up any refreshments and ensure the film is streaming properly. Be sure to time your event, such that the cleanup volunteers have plenty of time before you have to leave the venue.
  6. HOST THE EVENT 🍿
Enjoy the gathering – and any discussion/mingling afterward! Though the content is intense and moving, this is also a time to celebrate humanity’s awakening – and focus on our bright hope for the future. Setting a positive tone and making everyone feel welcome will help your event be a success!
